Rochdale woodcraft report 19/7/05

Since our last meeting lots of things have happened.

We talked about the summer solstice, how the winter solstice was celebrated at Christmas and how we thought that the summer solstice should be celebrated. The children watched a part of a video about Stonehenge then split into groups to brainstorm.

We had a talk about Senegal and played games based upon the country and its culture. The children learned a few words and phrases in Wolof.

Our next session was canoeing on the canal at castlton. Everyone got very wet.

That weekend we camped with Hebden Bridge woodcraft and had a strawberry tea. Thanks to everyone who came and supported us. See separate report.

We always have a bit of a party to celebrate the end of term. This time we decided to take the children to Karims restaurant. The children had a great time. We are now closed until the autumn.
