Rochdale woodcraft report 15/3/05

Well we have had a eventful month.

We started off by taking the children “rock” climbing. I say rock but it was on indoor climbing walls which meant that we didn't have to worry about the weather or sunset times.

The following week was pets night, which we combined with our regular “bring a friend for free”. Sonya also visited us to see how we were doing.

The next week we traveled into the hills above Bacup to visit the observatory and planetarium “PlanetEarth”. It was perishingly cold with snow outside and only one fan heater, but great fun. A clear view of Saturn through a portable telescope was the highlight for me.

The following weekend a number of our leaders attended a training weekend at Wortly hall organized by United Co-op. I have written a separate report on that.

Last weeks session was on Fairtrade. The children made African easter cards, completed a quiz on Africa and sampled Fairtrade chocolate. We also sold Fairtrade items on the night
